If I buy a 2008 Pontiac Torrent (new crossover) in 2009 will I save a significant amount of money?

pontiac 2009

I love the 2008 Pontiac Torrent, but I don’t need a brand-new car. How much will it depreciate in one year? The MSRP is around 24K for it brand new right now. Is there a standard formula across the industry or does it just depend on the car?
I live in zip code 31302. That is in coastal Georgia, USA.

  • The Eagle Keeper says:

Depends on the car & location. You’ll take a $10K hit the first year on that model here in Chicago.

  • Chad D says:

It depends on the car, but it will probably lose $6-8K it’s first year. Torrents, and most American cars, dont hold their values well at all.

They’re right about the 1st year hit. GM cousin the equinox was intoduced with a chinese built engine. if the torrent has this engine, this piece will dead fall in value.

    beautifull sheet metal though.
