There is a possibilty since the original Trans Ams were built on the Camaro platform. Maybe after a few years of the Camaro being out, Pontiac will come back out with the Trans Ams again.
I have not heard of any plans of them doing it but I think it would be a posiblity that they are or will be looking into. I sure hope they do! I think that once they started putting the smaller motors in all of the cars like the camaro, TA.. that it ruined the point of buying them. I hope that they have realized that a sports car will only last so long when it doesnt have any balls.
I THINK YEAR ONE IS MAKING THEIR OWN UPDATED VERSION OF THE CLASSIC ‘78 T/A. IT’S GOT ABOUT 500HP AND A BUNCH OF UPGRADES PERFORMED ON THE OLD STYLE T/A’S. THE PRICE TAG IS WAY UP THERE THOUGH. NOT A REMAKE LIKE YOU ASKED, BUT THOUGHT I’D SHARE.
From what I’ve read there is no plans for it in the future. Kind of disrespectful I think. Had it not been for the firebird/TA sales in the 70’s I think the fbody would’ve gone outta production long time ago.
Yes Year One is making some sort of a high powered resto of a 2nd gen T/A it’s about 50k.
Not locked in… Still Concepts getting kicked around….
But if fuel hits 4.50 4.75 per gal will not happen if not locked in… Without a few changes in E85 concept 1st.
No, No, and No. Pontiac lost alot with the GTO blunder and GM sales as a whole have been down. Pontiac has to stick with it’s bread and butter boringmobiles and avoid taking any more gambles. Heavy Camaro sales won’t even be enough to bring the rebirth of the Firebird.

I wouldn’t care! I only like Pontiac GTs, Dodge Chargers, and Honda Odessys! But I hope they do just for you!!!

It is rumored, but probably won’t happen due to CAFE restrictions and gas prices.
Sad…
