99 pontiac grand am went to the store shut it off go back to start it and the security light was flashing the car would not start

you have a pass lock problem, if you put the wrong key in, it may time out, other wise you’ll need to take it to the dealer
NORMALLY MEANS YOUR KEY IS DIRTY IF HAS A CHIP IN IT, U MIGHT WONT TO CLEAN THE KEY OFF IF THAT DOESN’T WORK TAKE TO A GM DEALER !! IT IS KNOW TO HAPPEN OCCASIONALLY I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
You could check that key for resistance with a multimeter, set to ohms. Ive seen them go bad before.
